Standard First Aid with CPR Level C.

Approximate Course Length: 16 hours

Certification valid for: 3 years*

The Standard First Aid CPR AED Level C course is a comprehensive, two-day program designed to meet the needs of the workplace. This course covers key areas required by workplace regulators in most provinces, including:
  • Emergency Scene Management
  • Shock, Fainting and Unconsciousness
  • Bleeding and Wounds
  • Asthma and Allergies
  • Head, Spinal and Pelvic Injuries
  • Diabetic Emergencies
  • Seizures
  • Respiratory and Cardiovascular Emergencies,
  • and more…

​*Annual CPR Renewal is recommended, as the CPR certification is registered with the Foundation for 1 year. 

​Emergency First Aid with CPR level C

Approximate Course Length: 8 hours

Certification valid for: 3 years*

This comprehensive one-day course summarizes proven methods for providing basic, urgent assistance to injured or ill persons. Through instruction, demonstration, and practice, participants will learn how to determine the severity of a patient’s condition and practice safe intervention when providing them with emergency support.
Topics include:
  • Emergency Scene Management
  • Shock, Fainting, and Unconsciousness
  • Head, Spine, and Pelvic Injuries
  • Severe Bleeding and Wounds
  • Adult/Child/Infant Resuscitation
  • Medical Conditions (including Asthma, Allergies, Diabetic Emergencies, Seizures, and Poisoning)
  • Burns

Successful completion of the course enables participants to receive an Emergency First Aid CPR/AED Level C Completion Card

​For lay rescuers or employees that are only required to receive of 8 hours or less of emergency or basic first aid instruction/practice as stipulated by provincial or federal health & safety regulations.

*Note: Annual CPR Renewal is recommended, as the CPR certification is registered with the Foundation for 1 year.

Heart Saver CPR & AED C

Approximate Course Length: 4 Hours if all 3 Modules Taken.

Certification valid for: 1 year

The Heartsaver® CPR AED course focuses on what you need to know to perform high-quality CPR and use an AED effectively. You will also learn how to respond to choking emergencies. Course contents and outcomes include:
  • How high-quality CPR improves survival
  • The concepts of the Chain of Survival
  • Recognizing when someone needs CPR
  • Perform high-quality CPR for an adult
  • How to perform CPR with the help of others
  • Give effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask, for all age groups
  • How to use an AED on an adult
  • When and how to help a choking adult
+ Child Module
  • Perform high-quality CPR for a child
  • How to use an AED on a child
  • When and how to help a choking child
+ Infant Module
  • Perform high-quality CPR for an infant
  • When and how to help a choking infant

Basic Life Support ( BLS )

Approximate Course Length: 4 Hours

Certification valid for: 1 year

The BLS courses focus on the essential skills rescuers need to know to perform high-quality CPR in a wide variety of settings. After successfully completing one of our BLS courses, students will be able to:
  • Describe the importance of high-quality CPR and its impact on survival
  • Describe and apply all of the steps of the Chain of Survival
  • Perform high-quality CPR for an adult, child, and infant
  • Describe and demonstrate the important early use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Provide effective ventilations using a barrier device
  • Perform as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR
  • Describe and apply the technique for relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for an adult, child, and infant

This course is designed for healthcare providers & trained first responders.

ATV Operator Safety
Course covers legislation, maintenance and inspection, PPE, pre and post trip inspections, preventative maintenance, driving/ riding strategy, driving/ riding hazards, safe winching, load securement, and vehicle limitations. Student exercises include pre-trip inspection, unloading, practical driving and winching, and load securement.

ATV & UTV courses may be combined.

UTV 
Operator Safety
Course covers legislation, maintenance and inspection, PPE, pre and post trip inspections, preventative maintenance, driving/ riding strategy, driving/ riding hazards, safe winching, load securement, and vehicle limitations. Student exercises include pre-trip inspection, unloading, practical driving and winching, and load securement. ATV & UTV courses may be combined.

Snowmobile Operator Safety
Course details legislation, vehicle maintenance, PPE requirements, pre and post trip inspections, preventative maintenance, vehicle limitations, avalanche, water and riding hazards, riding strategies. load securement, pre-trip inspection, and practical driving component.

Chainsaw  Safety Basics
Course details appropriate provincial & federal legislation, PPE requirements, preventative maintenance and practical chainsaw use component. This course is ideal for those who need to brush and remove deadfall.

Fire Extinguisher/Fire watch
The curriculum covers how fires occur, phases of a fire, how it affects us, PPE, fire protection systems, prevention, ERP, extinguishers, fire watch duties and fire suppression system practical.

S-100 Wildland fire suppression course is coming soon.
The most common fire training course in B.C. is the S-100, which is considered as basic fire suppression training for contract crews. The S-100 and S-100A are required to meet the training requirements under Section 26.3.1 Forestry Operation Fire Fighting of B.C.’s Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. The intended audience for this course is forest/oil and gas industry workers and contract fire fighters.

The S-100 is a two-day, 16-hour course with both a classroom and a field component. 

S-185 entrapment avoidance course is coming soon.
The S-185 is intended as a general knowledge course on wildfire safety and entrapment avoidance for local governments, contract crews, and First Nations. 

It is taught as an add on to the S-100 class.


Stop the Bleed
Through Stop the Bleed course, you’ll gain the ability to recognize life-threatening bleeding and intervene effectively. The person next to a bleeding victim may be the one who’s most likely to save him or her. Take the course and become empowered to make a life or death difference when a bleeding emergency occurs. Stop the Bleed. Save a Life! This course is taught as an add on to Chainsaw safety basics, standard first aid and emergency first aid at no additional cost.

This course is an add on that takes approximately 1-1.5 hrs 

NFPA 1001 Structural Fire fighting 
HSB Pipelines and Safety can assist First Nations and settlement fire halls in receiving NFPA 1001 structural fire training.
It is a client hosted course program through Lakeland Fire School. 
We will be move then happy to travel to your location to provide the course.
